Getting Your New Puppy

In an attempt to keep stress to a minimum for your new puppy,  every effort will be made to shorten the distance between us.  We will meet you (up to 4 hrs one way) and hand deliver your new puppy.  The cost for hand delivering is $100.00.  You are also welcome to come to Piedmont, SD and meet me and my dog family.  It is always great to meet new puppy parents. I do understand the time restraints we all live with, which brings us to shipping via the airlines.

Dickson Small Breed Pups is located close to Rapid City, South Dakota.  The Rapid City Regional Airport has United, Northwestern and Delta airlines that allow special arrangements for transporting puppies.

When making reservations for a flight, your puppy’s health, safety and comfort are number one. Considerations include finding the shortest flight, safe traveling temperatures  (between 20-85 degrees) and unforeseen circumstances like mechanical problems, scheduling changes or inclement weather. 

Upon the sale of your puppy, I will make flight reservations. I will keep you posted of times, locations, flight numbers, phone numbers and any other pertinent information.  It is also a good idea for you to contact the airlines after you know the Air Flight number to determine exactly where your puppy will be located upon arrival.  For security reasons, the person picking up the puppy must be the same person named on the Airway Bill. 

In most cases the price of shipping is $300.00 but it can vary a bit between airlines.

Vaccination (official) records and registration papers will be mailed to you within 3 days of receiving your new puppy. Also more information on training and a special toy will arrive via mail for you and your new puppy.

Please make sure you have scheduled a veterinarian appointment within the first 48 hours of receipt of your puppy to make sure he/she has arrived safely.  Take along the Health Certificate, Vaccination Schedule and Veterinarian Exam so your puppy and vet can get off to a great start.
